One number drives the bill: the event. It maps to what we store and to the signal you get back, so you can estimate a month from traffic you already know.
Each exposure the SDK records and each result you dif.track() is one event. A 500-event batch bills as 500, the same as 500 single calls. We count rows stored, not API calls.
Usage pricing only works if the bill cannot run away from you. These are on by default, not buried three menus deep.
No. The dif CLI and SDK are free and open, and run experiments straight from your repo. Dif Cloud is the optional hosted layer for live pulse, the metrics catalog, and PR write-back, and this page is what Cloud costs.
Two writes: each exposure the SDK records, and each result you dif.track(). Deduped retries and rejected payloads do not count, and a batch bills per row, not per request.
Events above your included 1M are metered at $0.02 per 1,000, and your spend cap is the hard ceiling. At the cap, ingest returns 429 and events shed, so the bill can never exceed the number you set.
No. Pro and Enterprise have unlimited seats. Invite every engineer, PM, and analyst; the price does not change with the size of your team.
Yes. Set a per-project sample rate and sample high-traffic surfaces at the SDK. It cuts events on both sides and barely affects significance at scale, so it self-regulates.
No. Raw events age out at 30 or 90 days by plan, but aggregated results, experiment analysis, and history are kept forever. The numbers you look at do not disappear.
Yes. Paying annually is two months free on Pro and Enterprise.
No. A repeated idempotency key is rejected by a unique index, returns 202 deduped, and is never billed. Safe retries are free.
